The Book of Esther records one of the first attempts to destroy the people of Israel in the third year of Ahasuerus, a king of Persia in 486-465 BCE.  Traditionally read during the Purim Festival, the Book of Esther tells how Esther (Hadassah in Hebrew) thwarted Haman, the King's Prime Minister, in his plan to kill all the Jews. Esther is a reminder to each of us, that when you live your life pleasing to God, by obeying His will, you will find favor with Him.  God will also find favor with your people.  Just as Esther was chosen for such as time in History, you also may be chosen for such a time!  (Esther 4:14)

The Shofar, throughout the ages, has been used to proclaim the strength of our faith in the one true God. From Jericho and on to the present day, the Shofar's strange yet compelling sounds are used to bring Jews together, to celebrate, as a community, as a people, events of importance.
