Shema Yisrael Deuteronomy 6:4 - Shema Yisrael is perhaps the single, most important prayer in the Jewish liturgy. This single verse from Deuteronomy signifies the essence of Judaism, the belief in a single, all powerful God. This verse, recited during both morning and evening prayers, signifies the reality of the worlds first great monotheistic religion Judaism.
